Ingredients 
 
  1. 1/4 plus 1/8 cup flour
  2. 1/4 cup caster sugar
  3. 1 1/2 tbsp.  cocoa powder
  4. 1/8 tsp.  salt
  5. 1/4 tsp.  baking soda
  6. 1/4 cup water
  7. 1/8 cup vegetable oil
  8. 1/2 tbsp.  vinegar
  9. 1/2 tsp.  vanilla
  10. Icing sugar, for dusting
Method 

  • Preheat oven to 180 C / 350 F. Grease a mini baking pan.
  • In a bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking soda.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.
  • Add wet mixture to dry and whisk until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool 10 minutes; then carefully run a knife around the edges of the pan, between the cake and the pan. Turn the pan over and let the cake ease out of the pan.
  • Dust with Icing sugar and serve with whipped cream, chocolate frosting, ganache or chocolate sauce.

First Let See What ingredients You Need


For rasgulla sponges


  1. 1 cup powdered milk ( Nestle Nido or any full fat powdered milk )
  2. 1 level tbsp.  plain flour
  3. 1 tsp.  baking powder
  4. 1 pinch cardamom powder
  5. 1 tbsp.  oil or ghee, melted
  6. 1 egg, beaten
For Ras (Sweet Milk Syrup)


  1. 1 liter / 4 cups milk
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1 pinch cardamom powder
  4. 1/4 tsp.  Kewra water
  5. 2 tbsp.  pistachios, finely sliced

How To make Rasmalai 
  • Boil the milk with sugar and cardamom powder in a pan over medium heat.
  • Meanwhile, mix the powder milk, plain flour, baking powder, cardamom powder and oil in a bowl. Mix gently with hands.
  • Gradually add the beaten egg, a little at a time and mix till it forms a ball shape. ( Just add enough egg that the mixture comes together ).
  • Knead lightly to make a smooth dough. Don't knead too much.
  • Make equal sized, small, oval or round shape balls with a light hand and flatten them slightly.
  • Place the balls, one by one into the milk.
  • Cover the pan and cook on medium-high heat until the milk comes to a boil and the balls start to increase in size.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for few minutes until the balls are soft and light.
  • Turn off the heat and add the kewra water.
  • Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle pistachios.
  • Let it cool slightly at room temperature, then refrigerate until serving.
